Abby Brunt

RMP

Abby specializes in Myofascial Therapy, using long, slow strokes to release fascial restrictions and calm the nervous system. Her sessions promote deep relaxation, improved mobility, and lasting relief.

Abby has been a massage therapist since 2009. She received her education at the Palmer Institute of Massage and Bodywork in Salem, MA. Currently she is a RMP in MD and a LMT in VA. She practices a variety of modalities including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Swedish, but she’s most passionate about doing area specific work on the myofascial structure (the web of connective tissue that surrounds each muscle fiber and comes together to form the tendons that attach to the bones). Releasing restrictions within the myofascial web helps to reduce pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance posture. Abby also has received training in SASTM or sound assisted soft tissue mobilization, which helps to break up fibrotic areas in the fascia, which can be caused by things like repetitive stress injuries or post-surgical scarring. Whatever the modality needed, Abby enjoys being able to work with each individual client to help them feel and function better in their daily lives. She is a member of ABMP, the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals. She also has a BA in History and English from Gordon College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Old Dominion University. Abby works in our Rockville office on Tuesdays. She works in Germantown on Wednesdays.
